──────────────────────── 🎤 KCL TECH SUMMIT 2025 🗓 Saturday, 25th October
Our flagship event of the year — and what a way to start the semester!
This year’s KCL Tech Summit was officially the UK’s largest student-led tech conference, and we were honoured to be supported by an incredible line up of industry leaders including Arm, Adobe, MathWorks, Kickstarter, Headstart, Notion, JetBrains, and incident.io. Their involvement helped make the day truly unforgettable and brought real-world tech insight straight to our students.
✨ Highlights included:
- Inspiring speakers across tech, startups, and research
- A buzzing careers & academia fair
- Meaningful networking between students and professionals
The energy in the room was unreal, and it was incredible to see so many students taking real steps toward their futures in tech.
──────────────────────── 💻 FIRST YEAR HACK 🗓 Sunday, 9th November
Our First Year Hack was all about learning by doing. Freshers came together to build their first projects, learn new tools, and experience the magic (and chaos) of hacking for the first time.
From ideation to demos, we saw amazing creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving — huge respect to everyone who took part and pushed themselves out of their comfort zones.
──────────────────────── 🤝 CO-FOUNDER MATCHING SOCIAL 🗓 Sunday, 10th November
Ever wanted to meet your future startup co-founder? This was the place to do it. Students met across disciplines to pitch ideas, share ambitions, and form new connections.
Whether you found a potential co-founder, a collaborator, or just a new friend — this night was all about bringing ideas and people together.
──────────────────────── 💘 VENTURE CRUSH: SPEED NETWORKING NIGHT 🗓 Night 1: Tuesday, 12th November 🗓 Night 2: Sunday, 17th November
Two nights. Dozens of ambitious students. Endless networking. Venture Crush was fast-paced, high-energy, and full of meaningful conversations.
Students met founders, builders, designers, developers, and future entrepreneurs — all in a fun, low-pressure speed-networking format. The vibes were immaculate.
──────────────────────── 📣 FRESHERS’ REPS ANNOUNCEMENT 🗓 Friday, 15th November
A huge welcome to our new First Year Reps! 🎉 These students will be the voice of our freshers and play a big role in shaping KCL Tech going forward. We’re so excited to have you on board.
──────────────────────── 🧠 NOTION NOVEMBER 🗓 Friday, 29th November
Productivity meets tech. In this workshop, students learned how to use Notion to organise projects, plan their academic life, track goals, and build systems that actually work.
Perfect timing before deadlines hit — and one of our most practically useful sessions of the term.
──────────────────────── 📚 WEEKLY JAVA & PYTHON WORKSHOPS
Our Tech Academy ran every single week, helping students build real coding foundations:
- 🟡 Java Workshops — OOP, logic, and problem-solving
- 🐍 Python Workshops — scripting, automation, and data handling
Whether you were a complete beginner or brushing up your skills, these sessions showed exactly what KCL Tech is about: learning together and lifting each other up. Whilst we have wrapped up KCL Tech Academy for this semester, please look forward to more great workshops starting next year :D
